Ambassadors Help Clean up the Streets

On April 3, early childhood education (ECE) educators, families and advocates gathered around Pete’s Fruit Market in Milwaukee to mark the start of Week of the Young Child. The event featured ECE vendors, a proclamation read by Mayor Cavalier Johnson and a kiddie-sized parade in support of ECE. Youth Forward MKE Ambassadors were on-hand to help with the festivities, specifically by collecting trash along the parade route. Throughout the morning, they gathered garbage across the block, particularly focusing their attention on the Pete’s parking lot, where the majority of the event took place. Altogether, they managed to collect 3 full bags of trash during and after the festivities.
